Hello!

My name is Emmitt Fivecoat (he/they) and I am a Graphic Designer and Brand Strategist.

I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in March of 2017. I had the opportunity to work with an amazing advertising agency in Portland, Oregon for a year before I moved back to the east coast to pursue working with my own clients. I really wanted to help new business owners succeed despite not having a boutique branding budget. For four and half years I directly helped my community see their dreams come to light. My clients have been in a wide range of spaces from community organization to food and beverage to technology.

As a contractor, I have worked with a variety of teams and clients – leaders in the fields of technology, transportation, construction, athletics, and more. I have worked on projects involving layout design, instructional design, brand development, print/digital ad campaigns, environmental graphics, and packaging.

In May of 2023, I began working with the ACLU of Florida as the Graphic Designer for the affiliate. In this role I report to the Director and Deputy Director of Communications and I collaborate with each department (Communications, Legal, Policy and Advocacy, Finance, Field, Development, and Executives). I translate the organization’s work and messaging into visuals for our donors, digital and in-person audiences. In order to achieve this, I have developed the organization’s visual brand and designed systems for accompanying assets and campaigns. I assist the Deputy Director with Instagram planning and wider content strategy. I also work with the new LGBTQ+ Justice team as the Communications representative to maintain clear communication across all teams. On occasion, I have had the opportunity to work with the National organization on internal and external facing materials.
